Our Business

Hammond Brickwork Limited is a brickwork and building contractor operating in the South East of England. We are a family-run business that provides brickwork services including new builds, extensions, heritage restoration, structural work and general building services. We employ skilled tradespeople and work with a small number of trusted subcontractors and suppliers.

Our Commitment

We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chain. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain includes:

  • Suppliers of building materials such as bricks, mortar, cement and aggregates
  • Subcontractors providing specialist trade services
  • Plant and equipment hire companies
  • Scaffolding suppliers

We source materials from reputable UK-based suppliers wherever possible. We expect all our suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery.

Our Policies and Practices

We take the following steps to assess and manage the risk of modern slavery:

  • We verify the identity and right to work of all employees before they start work
  • We pay all employees at least the National Living Wage and ensure fair working conditions
  • We do not use agencies that cannot demonstrate fair employment practices
  • We expect our subcontractors to verify the right to work of their employees
  • We will not knowingly engage with any supplier or subcontractor involved in modern slavery
  • We encourage the reporting of any concerns and will investigate them promptly

Due Diligence

When engaging subcontractors, we carry out appropriate due diligence including:

  • Verifying their business registration and insurance
  • Checking that workers are being paid fairly and have appropriate working conditions
  • Monitoring working practices on our sites
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with a trusted network of subcontractors
